You have something coming up, and it needs to go well.
A presentation. A difficult conversation. A negotiation. An interview. A leadership meeting. A pitch. A discussion with senior management.
Bring me the real situation. We'll work out what you're trying to accomplish, what needs to be said, and how you're going to handle it.
The situation is real. So that's what we work on.
You don't need a course. You need to get ready for what's actually about to happen.
Maybe you know exactly what you want to say but you're not sure how to say it in English.
Maybe you have too much information and don't know what really needs to be in the presentation.
Maybe the difficult part isn't what you want to say. It's what the other person might say back.
Or maybe you know your subject inside out, but the moment you have to handle it in English you start thinking about the language instead of the situation.
That's what the 90 minutes are for.
We work on what needs to happen in the room.
Get clear on the outcome
What are you actually trying to accomplish? What needs to happen when this conversation, presentation or meeting is over?
Work out what needs to be said
We find the message, remove what is getting in the way and work on the structure, wording and delivery where needed.
Prepare for what comes back
Questions. Objections. Pushback. Unexpected turns. We prepare for the parts you can't completely control.
Don't create an exercise for me.
Bring what you're actually working with.
Your presentation. Your notes. The email thread. The agenda. The questions you're expecting. The message you need to deliver.
Send relevant materials before the session and I'll review what is reasonably possible within the preparation time available.
If you're working with a larger document or deck, that's fine. We may focus on the parts that matter most and work through some of the material together during the session.
The point is to prepare for your situation, not a hypothetical version of it.
Not more theory. A plan for the situation.
What you're trying to achieve and what matters most.
What needs to be said and how to structure it.
Questions, objections, reactions and turns the situation may take.
The key points from our work so you don't have to rely on memory afterward.
Simple.
